Living Our Faith Through Action

At Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, we believe service is more than a requirement — it’s a cornerstone of our mission and a reflection of our commitment to faith, compassion, and leadership. Through community service, our students grow into responsible, empathetic citizens who actively contribute to the world around them.

Why Community Service Matters

  • Service encourages students to:
    • Live out their faith in meaningful ways
    • Build strong character and leadership skills
    • Understand the value of empathy and giving back
    • Connect with local organizations and causes
    • Make a real difference in the lives of others

Student Requirements

All middle and high school students are required to complete community service hours annually as part of their graduation requirement. Specific grade-level expectations and deadlines are communicated at the start of each school year.

Students are encouraged to choose service opportunities that reflect their interests, passions, and values — whether that's volunteering at local shelters, supporting parish ministries, mentoring younger students, or helping at community events.

Red Cross Club & Service Initiatives

BSH proudly hosts a Red Cross Club, sponsored by our school nurse. This student-led organization provides leadership and service opportunities in disaster relief, blood drives, health awareness, and more.

Additional service opportunities may include:

  • Homeroom classes in lower school visit Backpacks of Love each month.
  • Caroling at local nursing homes
  • Food drives & donation campaigns
  • Service days with local nonprofits
  • Outreach to nursing homes and hospitals
  • Campus ministry projects
  • Environmental clean-ups
